The Italian-American founding duo, Tara Kelly and Francesco Sullo, were fed up with password managers that claimed to be secure while actually having backdoor access to customer data. They built Passpack with what they called “real security for people who take privacy seriously.”

Their approach was so secure that when LogMeIn bought the original Passpack in 2014, they had to completely rebuild their system because most companies find it inconvenient when they can’t peek at customer data for “support purposes.” This proves that sometimes the biggest security breakthrough is simply keeping your promise that private actually means private, even when it makes business harder for the company.
